Little Troopers treetop adventure day - Tue 27 Aug.

Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Hampshire, Essex, Buckinghamshire

The charity Little Troopers has teamed up with GoApe to host a free treetop adventure for 90 military children across several locations on Tuesday 27th August.

The special day is part of the charity’s All Together programme, which brings military children together from all three services, to spend time with each other and feel recognised and celebrated for being ‘little troopers’.

The GoApe treetop adventure is open to children aged 7-12 years at the following locations:

Itchen Valley, SouthamptonAlice Holt, HampshireHylands Country Park, Chelmsford, EssexWendover Woods, BuckinghamshireCannock Chase, StaffordshireTemple Newsam, Yorkshire
On arrival, the children will get to know each other during a Gorilla Games ice-breaker before taking to the trees to complete the famous high-wire adventure course, where they’ll be navigating tree-crossings, high ropes, wobbly bridges and zip wires. All 90 military children will be in the trees on the same day, at exactly the same time, in different parts of the UK.

Louise Fetigan, founder of Little Troopers says: “We’re really excited to be teaming up with GoApe again to host this special event where 90 military children will have a really fun day out during the summer holidays and make memories with other little troopers they won’t have met before.

“Our All Together programme has been so popular and the feedback from families is that spending time with other little troopers has such a positive impact on their children. We expect this event to be really popular so families are encouraged to register as soon as they can.”

Izzy Niblett (15) who attended the last Little Troopers All Together adventure day, explains: “It was very fun to be outdoors and engage in an adventurous activity with other children whose parents are deployed. I really enjoyed it.”

The day is fully-funded by Little Troopers – although parents are asked to provide their own transport to the site and pay for parking. Children who have parents deployed over the summer holidays will take priority on registering.

The Little Troopers All Together programme launched in 2022 and includes residential breaks, adventure days and online workshops. The programme has been supported by grants from

the Veterans Foundation, the Prince of Wales Charitable Fund, the Henry Sale Foundation, Greenwich Hospital and HDH Wills.
